Indy Eleven Defeat Charlotte Independence 2-1

The Indy Eleven were back in Lucas Oil Stadium for the third time in seven days on Saturday to take on the Charlotte Independence.  The match had an inauspicious start for the Eleven with two players going down in the first seventeen minutes, both with hamstring injuries.  They held strong and ended the first half nil-nil. Charlotte jumped on the Eleven just five minutes into the second half with Jorge Herrera scoring their only goal.  The Eleven fought hard and stayed cool in the face of uncalled fouls that should have landed a red card.  In the 62nd minute, Ben Speas found the back of the net for his first goal of 2018.  Just eight minutes later, a corner from Ayoze
García Pérez finds Carlyle Mitchell at the top of the six-yard box for the header scoring the game winner.  The win secured three points and fourth in USL standings.  The Indy Eleven next face off against the Charleston Battery on Wednesday at MUSC Health Stadium at 7pm.
