Friday night was “Pink the Rink” at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. While donning pink and black tuxedo jerseys, the Fuel faced off against the Fort Wayne Komets, in their third meeting. Thanks to the stars of the game, Brittain and Marshall, the Fuel maintain their perfect at-home record. Josh Brittain put the first goal on the board with an assist by Ben Marshall at 13:45. A short minute later found Cody Sharib extending the lead to 2-0. The Komets made a quick comeback in the first period to tie the match at 2-2, with goals by Daniels and Southorn. Schneider and Brittain replicated the quick scoring duet ion the second period, bringing the score to 4-2. The Fuel had a completely solid third period, keeping the Komets at bay with amazing defense. It looks as if this reorganized team is up for the challenge of the 15/16 season. Despite being outshot 29-28, the Fuel bring another win to their record, and break their 3 game losing streak. The Fuel are now 2-0 on Pink the Rink nights, in which they partner with Susan G. Komen Central Indiana.
The Fuel play twice in Evansville this week, and return home on November 7th to face Quad City.
