Fuel Breaks Stingrays Winning Streak in 3-2 Win

It was Mascot Day at Indiana Farmers Coliseum this past Saturday evening!  Fans were treated to dancing, cheering, and all around shenanigans by some of Indianapolis’ most loved team mascots.  Watching the dance moves of Nitro, Rowdie, and the new face of the Fairgrounds, Garfield…brought more excitement during the first period of play, than the actual hockey game.

Fortunately, the excitement began towards the end of the first period with a power-play goal by Fuel player Chris DeSousa.  South Carolina was quick to match that goal before the buzzer at the end of the first.  Indy brought heat to the game in the second period with goals by Justin Holl and Garett Bembridge.  Despite a 2nd period goal by the Stingrays’ captain, Andrew Rowe, Indy would continue their lead into the third period.

The third period was scoreless, but not without action and crowd excitement.  The Fuel’s Mac Carruth was dominant at the net with 35 saves throughout the match.  This win over South Carolina puts Indy on the board with 63 points, and at sixth place in their division.

With only a handful of regular season games left on the calendar, now is a fantastic time to come out and support the Indy Fuel!!
