August 2, 2015 | Bankers Life Fieldhouse | Indianapolis, IN
It was the tale of two halves, as the Indiana Fever welcomed the Connecticut Sun to Bankers Life Fieldhouse on August 2nd.
The home Fever started flat, shooting only 29% and letting the Sun’s Kelsey Bone score 10 in the first quarter. Connecticut used slashing cuts and foul shooting to set the tone, up 25-14 after one.
Indiana got a spark from Natasha Howard off the bench, keeping the offensive board alive, and Tamika Catchings and Marissa Coleman heated up for six points apiece in Quarter 2.
The late first-half push carried through the break, as the Fever sharpened their game and their shooting. 93% from the line and 42% from behind the arc prove too much for the Sun, as Indiana pulled away late for the 83-70 win.
Five Fever players finish with double-figure scoring, with Eriana Larkins tallying 10 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.
The Fever (11-8) make it three-in-a-row and move solidly into fourth in the Eastern Conference, behind Chicago(12-8). These two face off Tuesday for third place.
