Brownsburg Indiana – The 60th running of the NHRA Nationals sponsored by Mello-Yello had a different outcome than some expected. Many people expected a girl such as Courtney Force a fan favorite or her sister Brittany but not the case his time as Alexis DeJoria had a lot to say about it. Alexis won the Nitro Funny Car race beating out top names and making a statement that she is for real and not just a pretty face. Alexis entered the Nitro Funny Cars in 2010 and now has five career wins under her belt. No one saw this coming as the John Force Racing Team heavily favored and winning here at the Nationals for the last 6 years with three drivers in Funny Cars. Alexis went into the final race Monday with the hardest test for any driver and that test was the man himself John Force. Alexis beat the man (John Force) and that now makes her a true Champion and a force to be reckoned with.
Courtney Force was given a medal and her team as she had won her 100th event win a record for a female driver. A milestone for any driver.
